The Cyrillic Museum, a unique national institution, was opened in Rača near Baja's garden, in the monastery of which there was a famous copying school.
The students who blocked the Student Cultural Center (SKC) in Belgrade point to the autocracy of Acting Director Slavoljub Veselinović and call on all employees and other cultural workers to join them in the fight for free culture.
Students who are in mid-February taken over by the Student Cultural Center (SKC) in Belgrade today they invited all employees of SKC and other workers in student cultural institutions to join them in "the fight for free culture and the return of student cultural centers to students".
They assessed that "the dubious nature of the work of public institutions in Serbia is already known" which is characterized by "corruption, the foggy ground of business, neglect and neglect of institutions" and that this is "more the rule than the exception".
Autonomy in SKC
"The same fate befell the Student Cultural Center in Belgrade under the 'autonomy' of acting director Slavoljub Veselinović", who has been in the position of acting director since 1993, "with interruptions for almost 30 years", the announcement states.
The students of the liberated SKC point out that they are "publicly fighting for its decommercialization and the return of student spaces to students", with the assessment that "culture, unfortunately for many, is non-commercial, and cultural institutions are institutions of public importance - which means that access to them must be easily accessible to the public".
Requirements
The students stated a number of demands that are a condition for the unblocking of the SKC, among other things, the amendment of Articles 48, 50, 58 of the Law on Pupil and Student Standards and the addition of an article to the Law on Pupil and Student Standards that defines the Plenum of Student Cultural Centers.
According to that proposal, the Plenum of Student Cultural Centers would have a greater role in changing the structure of the Board of Directors, while with the amendments to the Law on Pupil and Student Standards, the mandate of the acting director could last a maximum of one year.
One of the conditions for unblocking is the adoption of a new Statute of the SKC in Belgrade.
The students in the SKC blockade demand that they be deprived of "any criminal and misdemeanor responsibility, in connection with the current blockades in Serbia".
