One of them, the guest from Slovenia, got us used to his regular performances, always in a new line-up and with a sufficiently varied repertoire (Time no. 1106, 1155, 1507, 1692). The second one, unfortunately, rarely goes down concerts stage in his own Belgrade. A long time ago, Zoran Predin (b. '58) and Nikola Čuturilo (b. '62) announced a joint venture, and again the album Analogous race (Croatia Records/Lampshade Media) late on sale. However, a somewhat unexpected tandem has already formed a band and started a tour: a quartet of old Čutura collaborators - brothers Dejan (bass) and Darko (keyboards) Grujić, drummer Blagoje Nedeljković (Manu?) Pače, good acoustic/slide guitarist Goran Stojković - enriched are two female backing vocalists; more precisely, standing vocals, because the men were sitting (and singing). But before them, the guests of the concert were Avtomobili (Nova Gorica, Slovenia), in a shortened edition - the main axis, brothers Mirko (keyboards) and Marko (vocals, this time not bass) Vuksanović, who collaborated with Predin a long time ago. An excellent pop band from the new wave era, Avtomobili are remembered for their catchy and clever songs, lyrics on a Serbo-Croatian independent label, and especially for their wonderful second album A long warm summer (1985, RTVLJ) without a guitarist! Now they reminded us of the early Hittites She is wearing a uniform. i Novac, and renewed editions could take their interrupted career outside of Slovenia again.
The hall of the Kolarč National University (KNU) was full (tickets: 2400 dinars), the attendees were almost without exception over 50, well behaved and in a good mood, so the continuous white lighting didn't bother much either, I guess it's only necessary for cameramen (right again?!). Conditionally acoustic line-up (guitars moderately amplified) Analog race at first could seem like giving in to themselves/years, half unplugged interpretation of one's own author's heritage with several new program points. The official part was framed by the covers of the new album and There will be more of us, and inside alternately singing the hits of the other - Zoran at ease in Nikolina An umbrella, this firmly in What would we do without us?, and paternal concerns (Chuturilova Listen to me, sine, Predinova My first prayer), then memories of the departed (Silver hair, Zoranovo na Margit ‒ Let me tell you, Nikolina na Bor), and the 'roll call' of the idols of those youths (Lenona, nova Call Che Guevara)... and the band nailed it, developed power (not noise) for significantly larger spaces.
Experienced enough to command the dynamics, Čuturilo and Predin expertly complement each other: the first gives rocker tension and the second chansonnier casualness; the first is in an enviable form as a guitarist, the second is playing with a group after a long time. The alternating conference has a historical perspective (Nikola) with a humorous twist (Zoran, iz Red flag 'take out' Three junfers). From the standards of Predin's Lačný Franz, they are inevitable (the first in Slovenian) Don't breathe on my collar., A kiss, who parted his lips, and the first guest - the renowned singer-songwriter Kralj Čačka - performed Guest worker troubadour. Of the lesser-known treats, Canaries in the mine i Without traces and shadows.
Čutura's sparse discography for adults, surprisingly to some, also contains solid riffs and hits that are refreshed here ‒ I was very young, Someone like me, Come back, and his friend-veteran Dejan Cukić kg played He loves me. Personally, I would like to have included some for which (songs and other artists) Nikola wrote lyrics, e.g. Sailor YU group.
Towards the end, you know, the archetypal cry Old Slavonic, and after two hours there was an encore, Čutura's Fierce Ne and Predin's calming, outgoing Wait for me.
She saw them off, and an enthusiastic audience will be waiting for them. Ana/logically, soon the old guys will take it all on their feet.
