On the big stage of the Serbian National Theater on April 2, the ballet "Don Quixote" was performed to the music of Ludwig Minkus, choreographed by Djula Harangoz.
Along with Ballet champion Ana Đurić as Kitri, the role of Basil was played for the first time by the young Artemij Makarov. Together with the ensemble and orchestra of the Serbian National Theatre, they gave the Novi Sad audience an exceptional experience.
What also made this evening special was the event that preceded Don Quixote.
Namely, in the hall of the theater, the double bassist, a member of the SNP orchestra, Siniša Mazalica, performed a unique musical performance on a bicycle with the intention of raising money for the students who on April 3 started their bicycle journey to Strasbourg.
Mazalica performed the composition "April k" inspired by the Red Carnation Revolution of 1974, when the dictator and tyrant Salazar was overthrown in Lisbon. This composition carries a strong symbolism of the fight for freedom and justice, perfectly fitting the spirit of supporting students.
Before the performance "Ero from this world" on April 8, Siniša Mazalica will perform this performance again, with the same goal - helping students on bicycles.
