Cultural institutions - 165 museums, archives, theaters, galleries, institutes and libraries will be connected in a single network of the State Data Center, and 30 more important locations will receive a complete computer network and wireless Internet, all within the framework of the agreement signed today (May 16) Minister of Culture Nikola Selaković and Director of the Office for IT and eGovernment, Mihailo Jovanović.
It is part of the Agreement on cooperation regarding the modernization, development and integration of information systems and digital services in the field of culture.
Minister Selaković stated that this cooperation will prepare domestic cultural institutions for the upcoming specialized exhibition "Expo 2027" because it will enable "much easier and better communication of cultural institutions with the outside world".
He reminded that Serbia expects millions of guests who will visit it during the three months of the exhibition, and "our goal is for them to visit our cultural sights, cultural institutions, museums, but we also have an interest in preventing queues for buying tickets, by enabling online purchase of a single ticket, as well as much better logistics in transferring data to our libraries".
Mihailo Jovanović explained that "The State Data Center will provide special capacities of the state cloud system for hosting and storing data of the Ministry of Culture and cultural institutions, primarily the eKulture platform - a unique national platform for the presentation of Serbian cultural content."
