"There will be a Festa!" is an attitude, and at the same time a slogan that marks first Blockade Fest in the organization of students in, as they say, the liberated SKC.
"Blockade Fest is our response to CEBEF's decision to Party not hold this year in the usual time frame, but "respecting the reality" in Serbia today. The reality motivated us to prepare the Fest ourselves," the students stated in the statement.
The official opening of Blockade Fest will be held on Sunday, March 9, starting at 19 pm in the building of the Student Cultural Center in Belgrade.
Blockade FEST Program
The Blockade Fest will open with the 1971 film "I Miss Sonja Henny" and a block of student films, the students said.
"After the opening, on the other days of the festival, the films will be broadcast at several locations in Belgrade: in the SKC, the Student City Cultural Center, the Belgrade Cultural Center, the Faculty of Dramatic Arts and the Faculty of Philosophy, as well as the Cinematheque in Uzun Mirkova street," the students' statement reads.
From March 9 to 16, numerous films have been prepared for Blockade Fest visitors, and the entire program can be found here.
Participants will, among other things, have the opportunity to talk with the directors of famous contemporary films. Discussions are planned with Zulfikar Filandro, Maja Novaković, Senka Domanović, Srdjan Keča, Đorđe Kadijević and other directors.
The program also includes a lecture by Professor Ivan Medenica, as well as a restored copy of a lecture by Jozef Beuys at SKC in 1974.
Although the film festival lasts from March 9 to 16, there is no film on the program on March 15. The whole day was set aside for one activity, and that was the protest scheduled for that day in Belgrade.
