The grand finale is taking place tonight in the Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna 70th Eurovision Song Contest. 25 countries are competing for the prestigious trophy, including the representative of Serbia, the "Lavina" group, which is number nine.
Favorites
According to bookmakers, the fight for victory will be uncertain, but one favorite stands out. Finnish duo consisting of violinist Linda Lampenius and singer Pete Parkonen with an energetic track Liekinheitin it holds the top spot in the charts for months. Their blend of classical virtuosity and rock energy is considered a winning combination.
They are followed by the representative of Greece Akilas with a song Ferto and Dane Seren Torpegor Lund with a ballad Before we go home, and the Australian pop-star Delta Goodrem is attracting a lot of attention, with a powerful ballad Eclipse is considered the main favorite to win the votes of the expert jury.
How was the sequence created?
Analysts of the competition studied in detail the order of performances, which attracted special attention this year. It is believed that the production went in the hands of the Finnish favorites, giving them the serial number 17, the same one from which the Finnish band "Lordi" won exactly twenty years ago.
Their performance comes right after a cheerful and energetic song from Moldova, which should bring the atmosphere in the arena to its peak and set the stage for the favorites.
On the other hand, some of the favorites with smaller chances were placed at the very beginning, which many interpret as an attempt to "lose" their performance in the early stage of the competition.
Decisions like this raise the question of whether the order is designed solely to create the best possible show program or is it subtly influencing the outcome of the vote.
Voting
Voting begins before the performance of the first competitive composition, continues during the performance of all songs, and ends 40 minutes after the performance of the last track.
From Serbia, it is possible to vote via SMS, but also online at www.esc.vote. Everyone can vote a maximum of ten times.
The audience in front of the screens, as well as the audience in the hall, will be led by Victoria Swarovski and Michael Ostrovsky through the program of the finals, as they did during both semi-final nights.
