The March Festival will be postponed, as expected.
Namely, on March 10, two weeks before the traditional start of the festival, the Committee of the Belgrade Documentary and Short Film Festival was constituted, so it is only now that it can decide on this year's
At the session held two weeks ago, it was established that the City Assembly did not appoint a Committee, and therefore there is no one to approve the program of the 72nd March Festival, even though it was completely completed on time.
Dejan Dabić, artistic director of the festival, tells the "Vremena" portal that today's constitutive session of the newly formed Board "was chaired by Nikola Rajičić, the new president of the Board", and that "the other members are unchanged from the previous convocation: Dragomir Zupanc, Nenad Popović, Milena Nikolić, Boris Jovanović and Dejan Dabić".
The new president, Nikola Rajičić, is the undersecretary of the City Secretariat for Sports and Youth, and except for Dejan Dabić, who has had a mandate since the last convocation, the mandate of the other members has been renewed.
Dabić says that today "it was established that it is technically not possible to organize the festival in the period from March 25 to 29, but soon, as soon as possible, the first session of the Committee will be convened at which the program, budget and new date of the 72nd March Festival will be adopted."
Let us remind you that the previous chairman of the Board was Nikola Nikodijević, the chairman of the City Assembly, and that the City Assembly is obliged to provide the conditions for work to the March Festival, of which he is the founder.
