Cultural Center of Belgrade continues the previously planned March program, in light of complex social circumstances and the situation in which this institution found itself after the Hall of the Cultural Center of Belgrade was occupied.
KCB Hall
Employees of the KCB report that since February 18, when Culture has been blocked there, programs have been implemented exclusively in the organization and realization of that informal organization, and that they are not part of the program of the Belgrade Cultural Center.
"We are aware that current events in our environment and advocacy for a more responsible, more solidary and fairer society are a priority, but we also feel the need to apologize to the audience for not being able to offer the expected program, as well as to thank our domestic and foreign colleagues and associates for their understanding," their announcement reads.
Exhibitions
As part of the art program, they announce two exhibitions, both opening on Tuesday, March 11. two exhibitions will be opened.
In the Art Gallery, Nina Todorović, together with curator Jelena Matić, presents the exhibition "Diary of discontinuity", a series of multi-year daily notes in the form of classic and digital collages, video works and glitch/gif animations. These are reactions to current events combined with intimate experiences of a multitude of external sensations.
The exhibition "Renewal of meaning" by Saša Stojanović and Šejma Fera, created in collaboration with the scientist Marija Tasić, opens in the Podroom Gallery. They "want to question possible strategies of resistance in the current conditions of uncertainty and insecurity, and to critically explore the processes of knowledge production and the transformative power of art. The space of the gallery ceases to be a place of mere representation and becomes an environment similar to a laboratory or a classroom, where mediation is performed simultaneously by authors and visitors," reads the announcement of the exhibition.
Beoizlog
In Beoizlog, the "Belgrade Men and Women of Belgrade" project is underway, realized in cooperation with architects M. Dokmanović and P. Pantelić. It deals with the protection of hard-to-see and often difficult-to-access monumental heritage that is located on the facades of old Belgrade buildings, in an extremely receptive way: Beoizlog items - umbrellas, T-shirts, jewelry, mugs, puzzles, notebooks, bags, are decorated with appliqués with author's photos of these reliefs.
