Successors of composers, academics and university professors Isidore Žebeljan announced that they demand that her name, works, quotes, photos and her music be completely removed from the program of the event "Zrenjanin- the cultural capital of Serbia".
"We demand that the name, works, quotes, photos of Isidore Žebeljan, her music in videos, announcements and programs, and all attachments related to her and her work, be immediately and without exception completely removed from the whole, as well as from every single segment of the program of the manifestation 'Zrenjanin - the capital of culture of Serbia' during its duration", stated in the press release Borislav Čičovački, who addressed the media on behalf of the heirs of the composer.
"That way we will remain consistent with the greatness of Isidore's spirit," Čičovački pointed out.
The announcement adds that Žebeljan, as one of the most significant and respected Serbian artists abroad, throughout her life fought for the high morality of creativity and art, not succumbing to any sweet talk of political henchmen and mobs, which she unreservedly opposed.
According to reports, she did not want to accept any honor or position from this government, strongly criticizing it for the systematic destruction of morals, principles of expertise and knowledge, saying that "the president turned Serbia into a mafia madhouse".
"We cannot allow the name and work of Isidore Žebeljan to be part of the Mephistopheles charade of this government, which attacks the people during peaceful protests, which compares actors, the torch of our conscience, to terrorists, which insults journalists, the guardians of our sanity, and which belittles and humiliates teachers, teachers and university professors, the nurturers of our souls, and all this at a time when the Belgrade Philharmonic, the most important institution of music in the country, is on strike. This is not Isidore's world," he pointed out. is from Čičováčki.
