And members of the Association of Film Directors of Serbia (AFRS), as the screenwriters did, today, on Sunday, on Sunday, they sent a request that their works not be broadcast on RTS.
"We appeal to our moral rights, which imply that our works cannot be used in an unworthy manner and ensure viewership and variety of programs that later serve to persecute activists and concerned citizens." We believe that now is the time for dialogue, overcoming the crisis, urgently finding and punishing the perpetrators, for thinking and caring, and the absence of our works from the Public Service will be a good reminder of that," AFRS said in a statement.
The request was signed by 62 directors.
One of the signatories, professor Janko Baljak, tells the "Vremena" portal that the directors and screenwriters "are aware that the request does not bind RTS, legally they can broadcast our films." Our signatures are only a moral obligation for them. But just ignoring those signatures would mean a certain amount of brutality. This will be a good test for RTS."
As "Vreme" learns, the Organization of Film Authors of Serbia UFUS AFA Zaštita, which protects the rights of film (and television) directors, screenwriters, cinematographers and authors of animated films, is working to protect its members under the Law on Copyright and Related Rights.
