Another turnaround in in the case of Veselin Milić, colleagues from sports newsrooms would say. Nova.rs brought parts of the testimony before the High Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade Saša Vuković Bosket, suspected of murder Aleksandar Nešović Baja.
These fragments are the latest in a series of published defenses of other detainees and confusing statements by VJT.
Don't look back, mayor.
Boske clearly states that he arrived at the restaurant "27" at the invitation of his "long-time friend Veselin Milić". However, the former head of the Belgrade police stated in his defense that he accidentally met a "visibly intoxicated" Bosket in the bar. Hmm...This disagreement about the reasons for the meeting in "27" seriously affects the consequences.
What did one "long-time friend" ask of another? Boske says that Milić told him in the restaurant that the purpose of the meeting was to reduce tensions between him and his friend Baja, who should join them. The chief wants "peace in the city".
How is it damaged?
Due to strained business relations with Bay, Bosque stated that he took refuge in America and, upon his return, raised "security to the maximum". There was no trust on the other side either. Bosque states that Baja indirectly blamed him for the assassination attempt on him in the meantime.
Milić must have known from both business partners about the high-risk relationship between them. Instead of a police approach, he decided on mediation. Why? The desire to preempt the wait and the latter's revenge? Turns out he's still the top sheriff in town? Your own or the interests of someone else, important and powerful?
During the short meeting in the restaurant, Baja was "cold and arrogant", says Boske. When he left the bar, he called him and asked him to come back. Then Milić left "probably revolted by the behavior of Nešović".
The chief didn't look back.
Faster and livelier
According to Bosquet, in self-defense and "panicked fear" he fired "almost a full round" at Bajo, who he said was the first to pull the gun. The owner of the restaurant, Nenad Lukić Lule, says in the same statement, then he shouted: "Nothing happened, nobody saw anything." If some kind of band was playing in the restaurant, the owner could call out to the musicians according to Bosket and "Now livelier and faster!"
He claims that Lule helped him in carrying the body of the murdered Baja. It is unclear why he would do this. Did Bosque threaten him? Or did the previous association of the murderer and the murdered man with Milić have a certain influence? Maybe boss Lule had some reasons of his own?
Basically, Boske said that the next morning he went to "27" and that the place and the traces of blood were cleaned by an unknown hand. And as Marinika Tepić says, Đuro Macut and Miloš Vučević had lunch at this restaurant on the same day.

The published statements contain numerous details of their own truths. This is also the case in this type of literature, the truth of which is determined by the court.
However, as was noticed from the very beginning, VJT persistently avoids getting into the essence of the Milić case. It consists in a reversible relationship between the mafia and the regime. What these activities are and their modalities can only be guessed. In that context, did Milić's mediation end in failure?
