To the legendary question of what's new, the answer is usually - nothing. Something similar can be said for Serbia. Educators will get legal protection like lawyers - so much for the results of suppressing violence in schools. After three years, when the preparatory hearing for "Jovanjica 2" is over, how long will the trial last? And as usual before the elections - thanks for the question - the opposition is busy with itself.
The lists of the I Choose the Struggle coalition fell in Belgrade's municipalities like pears in a strong wind, and then were announced again in the next twenty-four hours - something like rewinding the video. The move by the progressives, without any doubt, was aimed at undermining the beginning of the campaign for this part of the opposition and declaring it incompetent. Those others who do not participate in the elections, thus gained the opportunity to tell their former partners - didn't we tell you nicely that there are no conditions for a fair and honest game?
It was similar with the Move-Change Movement. Although Biram also announced a boycott of the fight if their municipal lists are not announced, Savo Manojlović kept this option open until 17 p.m. on May 16. His list in Vračar was disputed. Apparently, the problem was the lack of signatures, gender equality and change of residence. Part of the political bazaar claims that the Vračar progressives in the election commission gave in only after great and continuous pressure from the top of the party. Manojlović, on the other hand, says that everything is fine with the list, and that the regime accepted the ultimatum given to it by Kreni-pereni.
But all this has passed. The great Serbian Parliament, which has already been postponed once, is coming, on June 8. On it, Serbs from all over the known universe should homogenize against the Resolution on Srebrenica stronger than an atom of osmium (a metal with a density of 22,59 g/cm3). How? Easy - for a true patriot there is no G from genocide; traitors are all who say otherwise. Maybe these others - what time is coming - will be personally judged and adjudicated by Doctor of Law Vojislav Šešelj.
But the Parliament also raises a serious question. It reads: if genocide was not committed in Srebrenica, does that mean that Radovan Karadžić and Ratko Mladić are innocent? So - individuals convicted for this crime together with several other persons. The Republic of Serbia - just so we don't forget - recognizes the Hague Tribunal.
The resolution on Srebrenica does not mention the Serbian people, Serbia and Republika Srpska. But the authorities in Belgrade and Banja Luka are determined to impose collective guilt on them. What will be the image of Serbia in the world after the Parliament? That is to say, how much will the blackest stereotypes about Serbs from war propaganda be renewed with that assembly?
Answers to these questions do not concern Vučić and Dodik. As long as there is demagoguery and nationalism, so will their government. Really, nothing new at all.
