Aleksandar Vučić spoke publicly four times yesterday, Wednesday, August 13. If it is also from him, it is a lot. The first address happened around 16.30:20.30 p.m., via Instagram. Then, a little after XNUMX:XNUMX p.m., in front of the premises Social Media- and Savski venac. Half an hour later, he was speaking in Čatsiland. Finally, a few minutes before midnight, he addressed the media from the Palace of Serbia together with Police Minister Ivica Dačić and Police Director Dragan Vasiljević. Although these four addresses are seemingly different in terms of subject matter, their essence is the same: Vučić took off his gloves.
The government with its mercenaries and thugs enters into an open war with the citizens. It's not just about sticks, eggs and oysters anymore. Now they are attacking with pyrotechnics, and last night a gun also went off.
And yet, in none of his four speeches last night, Vučić did not mention the violence of his so-called supporters, but in fact paid criminals and vucibatans, towards citizens who are just looking for elections. He spoke about "nine months of violent protests", about "murder attempts" allegedly made by the protesters. We have seen the real pictures: they have clubs, fireworks, cannon shots, rocks and, we repeat: firearms.
Who is he from Wednesday night?
In this text, Aleksandar Vučić is not marked by the position he officially holds, nor is he called the President of the Republic of Serbia. He renounced that function on Wednesday evening, at the moment when he divided the citizens into his own and some others. Yesterday, he finally stopped hiding behind office and spoke as he really is: the leader of a joint criminal group that has occupied this country. Yesterday he addressed only his own. He gave them the wind at their backs and encouraged even worse violence against the citizens of the Republic of Serbia.
Forecasting what will happen next is a highly risky endeavor. However, it is clear that an honest man, who has been on the street for nine months asking for the bare minimum, mere respect for justice, can now expect everything from them. And that's all that we have seen in the last months in indications. Vučić gave us signals: the police who do not react, the sound cannon, then the police who beat... But, since the night before last, August 12, after the events in Vrbas and Bačka Palanka, it is clear that the police no longer exists.
What is his plan?
That Vučić has been defeated and that this is the end of him has become commonplace. However, we must not turn a blind eye to the fact that he is brutally beating himself up against his inevitable fate - leaving power.
Rebel citizens knew that all this would happen from the first day they took to the streets, not from the beginning of the blockades, but from the first protest after the fall of the canopy, held on November 5, 2024 in Novi Sad. He knew that too, he was just postponing the plan he had back then. First, that night he sent thugs to demolish the City Hall in Novi Sad. Secondly, he also made a mistake on November 22, when the blockades of the faculty began - he sent Milija Koldžić with the thugs to beat the FDU students. This whole nine-month wave of protests, which will not stop, rests on one mistake: Koldžić and his team planned to attack Proglas representatives, but they stopped at the wrong intersection and beat up students and professors.
Frightened and desperate, Vučić is now putting the plan from November 2024 into motion: let the thugs go and pretend to be disgruntled supporters of the SNS, let it appear as if he struck people against people, neighbor against neighbor.
It's too late for that, too late. It didn't even work nine months ago, when he was much stronger. Because not only are the citizens no longer afraid, that fear disappeared even before the New Year. In these nine months, the citizens regained not only courage, but also strength, awareness of how much power they have, awareness that this power was theirs all this time, all 13 years. Only one bully convinced them that it was not so.
It was not just "fear that changed sides" here, much more happened here: the kidnapped people managed to remove the blindfold and see their captor. And he is neither crazy nor dangerous, he is just a scared boy from a dysfunctional family, in the body of a 55-year-old man.
In this sense, leaving the government would be a salvation for him as well.
