Mandatory Milos Vucevic he announced composition of the cabinet. The public is confused - many did not even notice that Serbia has been without a government for almost six months. If there were no legal deadline, it is unlikely that Vučić would have formed this one in due time.
What do personnel solutions say?
Seal came back as vice president in charge of nothing. "Serbski svet" celebrates - here we have quarrels with the Croats, TV wars, threats against Putin, jihad against the West, the assassination of the president of Serbia... Already seen and stale, but Vučić still needs the occult abilities of his personal Rasputin.
Dr. Danica Grujicic left. It is a classic example of the abuse of recognized experts: you promise them something that will make them a debt to their profession, you use them, you agree, you reject them. The new Minister of Health is a returnee Dr. Zlatibor Lončar. Unlike Grujučić, he is not looking for anything but to be a minister.
Marko "5:0" Đurić will manage foreign affairs. No one rejoices over Vučić's victories better than him, nor does he know Milan Radoičić and Zvonko Veselinović better. His appointment is interpreted by some as a wink to America, as if the ambassadors represent the policy of the country where they serve instead of the one they come from. Nevertheless, this former resistance fighter went the furthest of all his former colleagues.
Bata Gasic is returning to the army. This confirmed the gold standard established after the case of Nebojsa Stefanović. And that is that there is no other mandate in the same ministry of force. He was replaced by the eternal Ivica Dačić. He is certainly not a man who can use the MUP to create a faction within the SNS, nor to raise the personal and political weight of the SPS.
Milica Đurđević-Stamenkovski can change the nickname from Zavetnica to Pokajnica by charging for underground mining activities in the opposition, similar to Gordana Čomić back then. In the "capacity" of the Minister for the Family, she will continue with her favorite topics: family values, Kosovo, honesty, national honor and the like. In the age of progressives, the word is not binding.
Darko Glišić received public investments if he too would be a minister one day. It's a small sign of attention for a man who worked so hard on the field disciplining progressive committees. It is similar - but for different reasons - with the Minister of Information, Dejan Ristic.
Ability and knowledge in progressive governments are not important for the allocation of portfolios. The proof is the appointment of Nikola Selaković as Minister of Culture. Who knows, maybe agriculture or technological development narrowly missed it.
Selaković's election is actually a consolation prize, slightly better than the ministers without portfolio - Novica Tončev, Đorđe Milićević, Usama Zukurlić and another returnee, Nenad Popović. It makes them happy and it's good for their work, it doesn't cost Vučić anything, and it will be useful for his Movement for Serbia. Vucevic's government is actually a laboratory experiment in the realization of that project.
Finally, a summary. None of the new or old ministers have political weight, nor will they create anything important in their department. That's why it's worth paraphrasing Radoj Domanović: Serbia is known for smart young people and ministers; the former is exported all over the world, and the latter - unfortunately - not.
