Let it be that the news of the day is that it is Manja Grcic elected general director RTS. We will pretend that we did not know that she would be "trusted".
The board of directors, like Kobayagi, was struggling, then it was dissatisfied, then it wanted to Dragan Bujošević he is still disrupting the retirement age by leaving him as an acting official... but here, they chose Manja Grcic.
In the bazaar, she was declared a "regime" candidate a long time ago, and there are good reasons for that. After a short career as a journalist, Grcic worked as a manager in the media - at the triple border of big capital, arrogant regime and journalism.
As a rule, she chose loyalty to capital and regime, and how is journalism doing...
Wife of office
That's how bigger tasks and bigger money came. After the pacification of B92, from where Olja Bećković came with "Impression of the Week", Grcic dealt with the entire Antena Group (B92, TV Prva...). Then with Željko Joksimović, she founded a marketing agency, K1, Tanjug's television and some other miracles that no one watches, but they are well funded.
In addition to her powerful positions, she also found time to be on the Board of Directors of the Philharmonic - she is not going to refuse when Vlada calling.
Manja Grcic's capacities are, therefore, as great as the doubts about her degree from England and her willingness to serve the public interest at RTS. She describes herself as a "leader", although the term "ratrak" would be more appropriate, as another capable lady from the regime set called herself.
The ratrak is that big shovel that cleans the snow and smooths the ski slopes. Nothing sticks out behind her.
Maybe we'll cry for Buicket
Manja Grcic will sit in the armchair that Bujošević not only warmed, but also took the shape of his butt. With the pedigree of a serious journalist, Bujošević was not even close to choosing independence from political influence for RTS's news program.
On the contrary, although here and there - and especially in segments of programs without politics - RTS proved that it can do it when it wants to, our public service has long been a safe house for the president Aleksandar Vučić. He appears there when he feels like it, and Dnevniki often starts by quoting his posts from Instagram.
In addition, RTS has become an impassable labyrinth of schemes, part-time hiring of production companies and money extraction. Maybe Manja Grcic, the manager, can sort something out.
The program will hardly be touched when it is already excellent for the government. Although our government is never completely satisfied - it might want RTS to resemble Informer. Maybe the public interest will still cry for Bujošević. Happy New Year to everyone celebrating!
