Aleksandar Vučić tried everything to remove rebellious students and citizens from the streets. At the end of January, he even ordered Miloš Vučević to resign from the post of Prime Minister when, let's call him that, the progressive activist got away with smashing the jaw of a female student of the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad with a bat.
Vučić tried first, in accordance with his upbringing in Sešeljev, by threats, intimidation and by sending Batina's progressive staff to the students; so then he feigned paternal understanding for the youthful revolt, extended a hand of reconciliation and offered apartments; so, when the label of "irrelevant institutions" was attached to him, he took serious offense just like that and launched a frontal media attack on the students through Željko Mitrović and Dragan J. Vučićević in order not to turn them into "blockade-terrorists".
Nothing works.
Angered that nothing is burning like it used to be, that neither the summer heat nor the holidays can take the students and citizens in rebellion off his mind, that even after the Vidovdan protest on June 28, the network of civil assemblies began to branch out across Serbia, Vučić Aleksandar began to release the progressive Batina assault squads. The goal is as transparent as it is in line with radical worldviews and doomed to failure: to provoke conflicts, accuse "fascist terrorists", "foreign mercenaries" and "anti-Serbs" of violence, and then give free hands to the Gendarmerie and the Police Brigade to attack the demonstrators with all available force, except for the use of live ammunition (for now). The escalation of violence began on Wednesday, August 13.
When even that wasn't enough, the newly composed, Serbian anti-version of Commander Marko, i.e. Marko Krichak, the leader of the JZO, a former student of the "Vladislav Ribnikar" Elementary School, began to chase students around the center of Belgrade, stuffing them into the garage of the Government of Serbia and beating them. The fact that he slapped the student Nikolina Sinđelić and threatened to rape her speaks best of the consciousness of the people most loyal to the Vučić brothers.
Vučić wants to hammer into the students' heads that he is a "competent institution". He didn't forget it.
Outburst of anger
And that's how, step by step, we got to where we are now: at the top of the government of the Serbian Progressive Party, out of impotence, anger grows that they cannot return to the good old days, when they could do whatever they wanted, when they could do anything and everything in public; anger grows among the students that they are beaten against the justice of God and arrested; and the parents of young people who are protesting against lawlessness and robbery in the streets are boiling with primal rage that they blaspheme for the sake of staying in power, beat and imprison their children, declare them terrorists and brandish crazy accusations.
Aleksandar Vučić put everything on the policy of "lies and slaps". So much so, that he seems to have come to believe that he is the state. It's no wonder, because unlike the Roman emperors, slaves whispered in their ears during their triumphant arrivals from military campaigns in Rome. memento mori wouldn't they remember that they are mortal so that fame and power wouldn't hit their heads, these lackeys of his tirelessly talk that he is inexorable and irresistible and the greatest Serb since Saint Sava.
The progressive government has entered the terminal phase. It's just that those who run the state force still can't accept it. For Serbia, this means that it is entering the most dangerous phase in the last thirteen years. Vučić is announcing some new measures for the final suppression of mass demonstrations in the coming days, which can only mean an increase in the already significantly intensified repression. He also puts into perspective the murders which, he repeated several times, are being prepared by the "terrorist blockaders".
