"The house is burning, the foundations are collapsing, the country is collapsing, and the gentlemen are going on a picnic", is the famous line of Bata Živojinović from "The Return of the Written Off".
On March 6, the film became a reality - regime students started camping in Pionirski Park in front of the Presidency of Serbia; maybe one of them really has an index and knows where his faculty should be. It is certain that everyone has the same type of tent, as well as chemical toilets and prompters for TV Informer.
After the counter-demonstrations, the political life of Serbia also got counter-students. That's right - the gentlemen went on a picnic.
Doctor, are they conscious?
The "requests" from the progressive youth table concern the improvement of standards and the lowering of teaching criteria. This cheap attempt to bribe the rebellious students was sent to the absolutely incompetent trio of chairmen - the state, the Assembly and the weightless Government. Only the request for the dismissal of Slavica Đukić Dejanović (otherwise resigned) says something. First - that he will not continue his ministerial career in any format and, second - a twisted threat to the socialists.
Introducing counter-students into the game is an excellent diagnosis of the regime's state of consciousness. No one can keep up with the number of daily protests, assembly sessions at all levels - plus the Serbian parliament - can no longer be held without the gendarmerie, education is in disarray, universities are in open rebellion - and the list goes on. And the government is talking about stability. Which and what kind of time did Vučić and his team destabilize the country by destroying every institution he passed by?
But - the gentlemen went on a picnic.
Dried fig leaf
The regime behaves like a child who closes his eyes and thinks that reality has ceased to exist. That is why Ana Brnabić chaired the session of the National Assembly in pink smoke. It was similar in the one in Belgrade. There, the ruling majority, led by the president of the city assembly, Nikola Nikodijević, who spoke from behind a curtain of flags in the hands of opposition councilors, quickly adopted all the proposed decisions. They could have done this by text message, which is a hassle with meetings...
So Vučić called for a dialogue, one might say. It is true, but only on the condition that it is considered a conversation when he shouts and insults.
In an even normal state, the government would look for a way out of such a deep crisis in elections. But how in Serbia? The progressives made the declaration of the people a holiday of all kinds of abuse, pressure, intimidation and widespread corruption. Can anyone agree to that one more time?
The regime also accuses its own people of overthrowing the state led from abroad. They don't even believe in that lie. They know very well that repression would lead to a revolt that would completely paralyze the country. If the use of force does occur, it will be the move of a desperate person with significantly reduced sanity.
Day after day, the progressive government shows itself in all its nakedness - empty, harmful, outmoded... And it's winter, if there are any fig leaves, they are dry and withered.
This is how progressive gentlemen go to picnics.
