Morning programs on television look more or less the same everywhere in the world. In our country, of course, the oldest one is on RTS, where a network of correspondents brings viewers images from all over Serbia. There are also mandatory tips for drivers, the weather forecast and Nada Matsura who, after the report from the Emergency Service, tells us how to dress and reminds the chronically ill to take their therapy regularly. The current line-up of the morning program on RTS is dominated by girls, and the freshest face is Dragana Kosjerina, who is beautiful and concentrated even in the early hours of the morning.
In the news at 8 a.m., politicians must also appear - I guess that is later material for Dnevnik, and it is especially interesting when you see them freshly awakened in a state between waking and dreaming. However, RTS began to lose the battle thanks to the shift in viewers' biorhythms.
This season, there have been some unusual changes in the early hours of the morning. Television Happy, or more precisely its guru Milomir Marić, pushed the limit of waking up in the morning, so the show "Good morning, Serbia" starts even before 5 o'clock in the morning.
I can find at least two reasons for this move. The first is a possible consequence of Prime Minister Vučić's biorhythm. As part of the promotion of personal energy and the Protestant cult of work, he started to schedule sessions earlier, and he started receiving citizens before regular working hours.
That philosophy of getting up early has been known to me since my grandmother Mara from Bosnia, for whom getting up early was a matter of honor for a housewife. Resting, taking a nap during the day, when sleep deceives you, was considered a shame for a woman. In accordance with this cult of work, Happy wanted to get us a bottle every morning, to be the first to wish us good morning. Another reason is the "occupation" of the media territory, so Happy with a calm soul could boast that in the period from 5 to 7 o'clock it is absolutely dominant among the older viewing population. Whether it's because of my grandmother or insomnia, the ladies appear first at Happy, while Marić and the guests join them a little later. They prepare the field, like housewives they make coffee and prepare breakfast, and then the editor comes to work. Nothing without a woman's hand!
However, this Zornjak-dominance did not last long. Since I myself have been doing the morning program for more than ten years, so I get up early, I noticed that Pink Television has prepared an answer. It is not a reality show, but a newly created genre that requires more careful analysis. So, a "something" never seen before appeared on pink television recently, which is called "Morning Sale" and starts at 5 in the morning. It is a television fish-girl, an amalgam between a news program and a TV show. Sleepy and disheveled boys and girls, as if at a military firefight, read some kind of news where only the name of Prime Minister Vučić and integral recordings of his speeches can be discerned.
After that, without any preparation, we are teleported to some kind of teleshop studio where the presenters and the actor from commercials for banks and plant protection products are rolling, let's say, ajvar - Tornado!? There is also the lady who makes Tornado, kudos, but a little early for ajvar. Then Vučić again, and after that cereal, which is popularly called "that snake's rot", to start the day with a healthy meal.
I admit that I thought I was hallucinating, because the program seemed completely schizophrenic to me. The only link between this interwoven program was a pink smudge in the corner of the screen, although I later broke in that all the presenters had at least one piece of pink wardrobe. This pink thread is pulled through as a shirt, waistcoat, blouse or dress, but always with joy. The prices are so affordable that you won't believe it (so they say), and Vučić says that we are getting better every day. I guess that means that there will be money for the pink teleshop as well - for that trune or Tornado. However, when the first shock after the info-shop experience passed, the impressions subsided and I realized that Željko Mitrović, in his own way, once again defined the spirit of Serbian TV programs through television.
Let's face the truth honestly. Two mandatory elements of all TV programs are the activities of the Prime Minister, his messages to the viewers and commercials. Both elements are necessary for the survival of any television - air and water, two symbols of power that rule the media in our country and in the world - politics and marketing. Mitrović painted both of these elements pink and combined them into a unique whole that no longer needs anything. After the info-shop, even Srđan and Jovana seem abstract and incomprehensible, they bring some kind of guests, they even talk about culture, about aliens (that sounds as incredible as culture), someone cooks for them in the studio. Waste of money and resources when ajvar has already been bought, and we have already heard about Vučić. Late my dears, that team dressed in pink has already finished their work.
