The government fell Miloš Vucevic. No one has told the Prime Minister that yet, and the statement of this fact in the Parliament is completely irrelevant. Namely, Vučić destroyed Vučević's budget only twenty days after the vote. The reader knows: it is a promise of cheap housing loans for young couples and a twenty percent increase in state grants to the University for material costs.
To this - as well as to the publication of documents from six registers related to the reconstruction of the Railway Station in Novi Sad - the students said "Phih". Because everything that Vučić said with their whistles and chants in front of the Presidency arrived too late and was too little. Protests are getting stronger, support for students is spreading...
She did nothing better than Vucevic in the presidential address Ana Brnabic. She was also humiliated by Vučić - she has to put on the parliamentary agenda the debate on confidence in the government, which she recently so flatly refused...
Such a victory for the opposition
The parliamentary opposition is not stupid. She knows, along with all of Serbia, that there are not enough votes to overthrow the government. But - if nothing else - the opposition has finally achieved some sort of victory. If they are smart and don't fall for the provocations and gibberish of the representatives of the government, now the public will listen to them anyway.
Among other things, because it seems that the opposition has found a way to represent the citizens: instead of mindless walks, announcements and dealing with themselves, the electorate now sees representatives and councilors at the blockades of the Court or the police building in Novi Sad, on the Old Bridge in Belgrade and other places from where they send clear messages to everyone. Fortunately, the boycott was only partial back then.
The stench of sulfur Seselje days
Although none of his friends leave Vučić, nor do they think about it, he seems more lonely than ever. Why? Because he disavows his closest collaborators, changes his mind several times a day and, especially, because the previous recipes for overcoming the crisis do not work for him.
His procrastination with decisions and attempts at bribery are currently only having the same counter-effects as last summer's lithium mining campaign from Loznica. It is similar with Expo and other construction mania. This is also the main reason why the stench of the sulfur of Seselj's days is increasingly felt in the speeches of the President of Serbia, in terms of scaring the people by whining about "hybrid war" and invoking the secret services.
In this situation, will Vučić call another one of his extraordinary elections, even though he firmly vowed that they will not be held until the regular term? This depends on several factors. The most important thing is his assessment of whether the eventual elections would open up a new political crisis, which is what everyone is currently predicting.
Student riot
It's simple - the students entered the state with their riot, as the progressives like to say. In question is the support of the administrations of numerous faculties with a tendency to extend to high schools, institutes, other public institutions, even companies.
This is not an empty gun threat. It is clear - of course - that the youth rebellion cannot last forever, but also that, unlike the previous rebellions, the students this time could dictate the conditions for its end. If nothing else, they have already demoralized and forced the forwards into a defensive position that has not been seen in their time.
