A member of the Belgrade Provisional Authority, Vladimir Obradović, said today that the fact that "City Secretary for Finance Katarina Čubrić is selling the capital that Belgrade has in Lasta in secret and without any evaluations" is proof that the progressives have put everything owned by the citizens of Belgrade on the line.
Obradović stated in a written statement that in this way Belgrade remains "piece by piece without the ownership it acquired over the years."
About two weeks ago, the City of Belgrade adopted a Decision on the sale of 264.018 shares of Lasta, the total amount it owns in that company, at a meeting of the Provisional Authority, at a price not lower than 550 dinars per share.
Vladimir Obradović, who was a candidate for the mayor of Belgrade in front of the "Serbia against violence" list, reminded that the Provisional Authority is authorized to make only those decisions that are necessary for the current business of Belgrade and are urgent, and that it is clear to everyone that nothing can be done be urgent in the sale of Belgrade's assets, nor in the sale of "Lasta" shares.
He announced that he will initiate criminal proceedings against the members of the Provisional Authority, Šapić, Nikodijević and Mirković, who vote for harmful decisions beyond their authority, because such actions must be stopped.
According to the "Biznis" portal, a package of shares of Lasta Transport Company was sold today on the Belgrade Stock Exchange for 560 dinars per share, i.e. for a total of 145,26 million dinars.
It is a total of 264.116 shares - which is equal to the package that, according to the data of the Central Securities Register, the City of Belgrade owns in this company.
This sale indicates that the privatization of Lasta is about to take place. The Ministry of Economy previously announced that it is possible that in 2024, companies will be invited to send letters of interest in purchasing the state's stake in Lasta.
The same portal states that data on the operations of the rating agency CompanyWall indicate that "Lasta" has made a net loss in the last three years, which in 2022 has doubled compared to 2021 to 919 million dinars.
According to the sales from the 2022 financial report, which is the last one published, "Lasta" has more than 2.000 employees, and at the end of that year, a debt of around 7,8 million euros was recorded.
