The company Stelantis she announced that pulls 375.000 Jeep Wrangler and Grand Cherokee hybrids worldwide due to battery failure, resulting in 19 reports of fires, and urged owners to park the vehicles until repairs are completed.
The recall covers the 2020-2025 Jeep Wrangler SUV and the 2022-2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV, Reuters reports.
The company said that a recall is imminent, and that until repairs are made, owners should park away from the facilities and refrain from charging the battery due to the risk of fire.
Stellantis reported to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that it had received reports of 19 fires and one person injured.
Of the 370.000 vehicles, about 320.000 are located in the United States.
The automaker said the batteries were manufactured by Samsung, which it said was the most likely cause of the damage to the separator, combined with other complex interactions within the battery cells.
