Company plane Ryanair, which flew from Thessaloniki to Memmingen on Friday morning, July 10, returned to Thessaloniki shortly after take-off after the passenger side window was broken during the flight due to physical force, the airline for port N1 confirmed.
As Ryanair stated in its response, one passenger requested and received medical assistance on the ground in Thessaloniki, without specifying how the injuries occurred.
"The plane landed normally, and the passengers returned to the terminal," the company said, adding that a replacement plane was organized to transport the passengers from Thessaloniki to Memmingen.
Ryanair did not comment on reports that one passenger nearly fell from the plane after the window he was sitting next to broke.
Serbian Consulate: The injured is not life-threatening
A citizen of Serbia who was injured in an incident on a plane flight was transferred by ambulance from the "Macedonia" Airport in Thessaloniki to the University General Hospital, the Consulate General of Serbia in Thessaloniki announced.
The doctors are determining the extent of the injuries and the health condition of the patients, and upon receiving the results of the medical examinations, they will inform the General Consulate of the Republic of Serbia, the press release states, adding that according to currently available information, the injured is not life-threatening.

Greek media previously announced that panic broke out on the plane to Germany when the window broke, and the passenger sitting next to the window was pulled out of the plane by the air. According to the media, he was saved by his wife and other passengers who held him.
The Greek portal Prototema announced that the man in question is a 61-year-old man originally from Serbia and that he was kept in hospital due to his injuries.
