It is a system for citizens of 50 countries who do not need a visa to enter the Schengen countries, including citizens of Serbia.
This system was supposed to be the first step towards the introduction of new rules for entering the Schengen countries for citizens of countries that do not need a visa, including Serbia.
The announcement states that according to the latest information, the EU will first introduce the EES system, and within six months after its introduction, the ETIAS system will be established.
The National Association of Travel Agencies adds that the date of the introduction of the EES system is still unknown, so it is not possible to determine the exact or approximate date of the start of using the ETIAS system, and they assess that at this moment the most important thing is that Serbian citizens will continue to travel in the future as before, that is, without filling out new forms when traveling to Schengen countries.
From Utah, they pointed out that the announced introduction of the EES system (exit/entry system), which was supposed to be implemented in November 2024, was postponed to October 2024 for an indefinite period and that it should be introduced during this year.
