Some of the cities allocated 1,5 million dinars each for decoration, and some went even further - as much as 9,5 million without VAT. What is specific about the procurement of these goods is that the same companies that get jobs are repeated in several cities, but it is not unusual that they got jobs in previous years as well, he writes. 50.000 euros for reindeer, Christmas trees, snowflakes...
Nine bows, nine Christmas trees with caps, 15 Santa Clauses, 21 reindeer, 45 snowflakes made of cold white lights, 44 with warm white lights, 12 small snowflakes with an aluminum frame and nine large snowflakes with an aluminum frame - this is how the list of New Year's decorations ordered by the public utility company "Čistoća" in Stara Pazova looks like. This seemingly ordinary list of New Year's decorations actually costs more than 50.000 euros, or six million dinars.
Unlike other purchases of New Year's decorations that cost around two million dinars, the estimated value of this purchase of decorations in Stara Pazova costs as much as six.
The company that gets this job will have to install and transport the decorations.
One company in several places
The company "DBA Light" from Krnješevac operates in Stara Pazova, which became famous for making New Year's decorations and figures.
How much others will pay for New Year's decorations, New Economy journalists found out through public procurement.
It was in Kraljevo that the company "DBA Light" Krnješevci got a job worth almost 1,5 million dinars.
The lighting is almost identical to the one that Stara Pazova now procures for the New Year. A few years ago, this company also received work for lighting for the New Year.
As local media write, this family company has been producing New Year's decorations for 12 years. So this year they organized their home fair with decorations and figurines. DBA Light has been receiving work for decorating the whole of Kraljevo for years.
This company also won a job in Smederevo, for 2,62 million dinars without VAT. The business concerns the rental of New Year figures.
What "DBA Light" will rent is: a five-meter golden-red spiral Christmas tree, a 2D aisle heart (five pieces), an aisle gift, a big aisle ball, one lollipop house, a giant star, a 3,7-meter 3D Santa figure, two big glowing reindeer, and a red-gold carriage classic as a 3D figure.
Who pays the most?
The municipality of Majdanpek procured decorations for the New Year and paid for it 8,3 million dinars without VAT, i.e. slightly more than 70.000 euros, and the company "Vladimir Kucljak PR atelier for making topiary sculptures Kucljak" got the job.
As decoration, the following were ordered: a house with a passage, a train with an entrance for painting and a bench for sitting, a star meteor passage, a decoration for a flagpole in the colors of the Serbian flag, a decoration for a flagpole with stars, a needle-like hanging meteor and a ball with a passageway.
The price of decoration includes procurement, delivery and installation of decorations at three locations in Majdanpek, Donji Milanovac and Rudna Glava.
This same company also got a job in Bor. Namely, the City of Bor acquired New Year's decorations worth RSD 9,58 million. Of that sum, 3,78 million was received by the company "Kucljak", while 5,7 million was received by the company "Elektrodekor" doo from Novi Sad. Thus, the City of Bor will have one of the more expensive decorations (according to currently available information), as much as 81.150 euros will be provided by the city for these needs.
Decoration includes: ship with sails, anchor, red heart, decoration in the shape of three stars (five pieces), decoration for flags (five pieces), circles (five pieces), decoration for flags (nine pieces), stars in a bouquet (five), decoration in the colors of the Serbian flag (five), another decoration in the colors of the Serbian flag (three) and big stars (three).
The work worth 5,7 million dinars will be entrusted to leave the decoration in the urban area, while another company will have the work for the rural area.
Bor also ordered fireworks
The pine will not only have one of the most expensive decorations, it will also have fireworks to welcome the New Year 2026.
Those fireworks will cost the City of Bor almost 1,5 million dinars without VAT, or 1,79 million dinars with VAT. The company for trade and catering "Grof MBM" doo Petrovac, from Petrovac na Mlava, won the job.
Even Sremska Mitrovica will not be left without festive decorations. Decorative lighting includes light icicles on facades, light chains for the contours of buildings, light chains for the contours of trees, snowflakes for street lighting poles, stars for street lighting poles, trumpet-shaped pole decorations, bow-shaped pole decorations, a Christmas tree with a star on top, a package and honey, a decorative figure of Santa Claus, crystal balls, a blue star, a nine-pointed star, a lighted archway, green light-up archway, green light-up conical Christmas tree and light-up bears.
The job of decorating the city was awarded to the company "Elit" doo from Ruma for 2,14 million dinars without VAT.

In 2018, the city of Belgrade acquired the most expensive Christmas tree in the world at the time, which cost 83.000 euros and was installed three days before the decision was made to award the contract to the company that made it. The same Christmas tree is still in use, and a few days ago it was placed on Trg Republike.
The expensive artificial Christmas tree was bought by the City from the company "Keep Light" for 83.000 euros. It is 18 meters high and decorated with white chains with 200 red plastic ornaments and 40 decorative plush red and gold bows.
In 2017, the Christmas tree in Belgrade, which, including VAT, cost almost 10 million dinars, was even more expensive than the most expensive Christmas tree in the world, which was located in the luxury hotel "Emirates Palace", which cost 10.000 dollars without decorations. With decorations made of diamonds and gold, this Christmas tree cost 11 million dollars, the media wrote at the time.
