The oil industry of Serbia on February 12, it submitted a new request to the US Ministry of Finance for the issuance of a special license that enables the unhindered performance of the company's operational activities even after February 20. when the term stipulated in the previous license expires.
In the request, NIS emphasizes the importance of the company's regular work for the economy of Serbia, as well as the current one negotiations on changing the ownership structure, stating that the extension of the operating license would also provide the necessary time frame for the interested parties to finalize these discussions, the statement states.
The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the US Department of Finance previously issued a license to shareholders and interested parties to negotiate changes in the ownership structure of NIS valid until March 24, 2026.
Previous extension
US Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) in January, it extended its operating license Oil Industries of Serbia (NIS) until February 20th.
In a letter to the Serbian Ministry of Finance, OFAC stated the conditions under which the operating license is valid.
