Once the exhibition is open Exspo in Belgrade, which the authorities are announcing as the biggest event in the region in 2027, passengers will be driven, among others electric buses which will be procured by the Bulgarian-Chinese-Serbian partners.
According to the decision published on the Public Procurement Portal, the contract for the delivery of 50 electric buses was won by a group of bidders consisting of the Bulgarian company Snariot Motros AD, the Belgrade-based DAT Holding and the Chinese company Higer Bus Company Limited.
Their offer was accepted in the total amount of around 32,5 million euros without VAT.
The decision to award the contract was made on May 11, and was published on the public procurement portal two days later.
Dat Holding and Cheriot Motors previously jointly supplied electric buses for the Belgrade City Transport Company.
Second Chinese offer rejected
There was another offer for this purchase, from the Chinese company Shanghai Runtop Electric Vehicle Technology, but that offer was rejected, the document states.
The state-owned company Expo 2027 announced a tender at the end of February 2026 for the procurement of 50 electric buses and eight chargers for passenger transportation at the Expo site.
It is about 41 solo buses and nine double-articulated buses, the advertisement states. Domestic and foreign bidders could send bids until April 2.
The offered prices, along with quality, were the criteria for awarding the contract.
