"Due to altered organoleptic properties and the presence of larvae and insects, the food inspector from the Food and Veterinary Agency this week prohibited the import of 22,3 tons of kiwifruit intended for industrial processing and issued a decision ordering their harmless destruction," the statement said.
It is specified that it is about 22.340 kilograms of southern fruit imported from Serbia, which was determined by the organoleptic examination of the food inspector to be unsafe for import and further processing.
"A decision was issued to the importer with an order for the harmless destruction of the disputed quantities of kiwis, after receiving a notification from him that the shipment cannot be returned to the exporter's country," the statement of the Food and Veterinary Agency of North Macedonia states.
