Government of Serbia on Thursday (July 10) made a decision on the proclamation at the session emergency Situations due to natural disasters in five cities and 11 municipalities that have been affected by fires in recent days.
As stated in the official announcement, the fires broke out due to a prolonged drought, lack of precipitation, extremely high temperatures and hurricane-like winds, which caused great damage in certain parts of the territory of Serbia, reports RTS.
Members of the Government also adopted the Decree on the Adoption of the State Program for Assistance and Reconstruction of Family Residential Buildings Owned by Citizens Damaged or Destroyed by Fires.
For these purposes, 350 million dinars were provided from the republican budget at yesterday's session.
The decree defines the measures that will be taken, the manner and scope of those measures, the criteria and procedure for awarding aid, the competent state authorities for implementing the program, as well as sources of funding.
At the session, the Republican Headquarters for Emergency Situations was re-elected.
It will consist of relevant ministers, heads of state bodies, expert associates of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Serbian Army, the Serbian Red Cross, the Mountain Rescue Service, directors of public companies in the fields of transport, forestry, water management, electricity, as well as managers of other bodies, special organizations, institutions and organizations dealing with protection and rescue.
Regional cooperation
At the session of the Government, a decision was made on the agreement to establish cooperation between several cities and municipalities from Serbia, Republika Srpska and Montenegro, in various areas.
Cooperation will be established between Sombor and Trebinje, Varvarin and Modriča, Vrnjačka Banja and Herceg Novi, as well as Užice and Pljevlja, announced the Government of Serbia, reports RTS.
This cooperation will cover the areas of economy, science, culture and art, historical heritage, education, sports, tourism, ecology, economy and other areas of common importance.
