On Monday (June 15), he started by passing the test in Serbian, that is, his mother tongue final exam for students of the eighth grade of primary schools in Serbia. This opened a three-day cycle small graduations, which will be continued with a test in mathematics on Tuesday, while an exam in one of the five optional subjects - geography, biology, history, physics or chemistry - is scheduled for Wednesday.
The mother tongue test was taken from 9 am to 11 am in all elementary schools, immediately after the end of the exam Ministry of Education published the official solutions to the tasks, so that students and parents could check the accuracy of the answers.
What was the hardest part of the first test?
According to the students' first impressions, some questions from the Serbian language test gave them difficulties, among which the tasks in the field of word meaning and text comprehension stood out. Nevertheless, the majority of high school graduates assessed that the test was of the expected difficulty.

When are the results coming?
The preliminary results of the final exam will be announced on June 19, when students will be able to submit objections to the results.
The final results will be published on June 22, and on June 23 and 24, graduates will electronically fill in lists of preferences (desires) that they will submit to their elementary school.
The distribution of students by high school will be done on June 29, and after that, enrollment.
At the final exam, students can score a maximum of 40 points - 14 points each in the Serbian language and mathematics, as well as 12 points in the test from the chosen subject. Those points are added to the points achieved based on success during schooling and are crucial for enrollment in secondary schools.
More places than students
Future high school students should not worry about the lack of places this year either. According to the enrollment plan for the school year 2026/27. year, 71.614 places are planned in secondary schools across Serbia, while slightly more than 64.400 students complete the eighth grade. This means that there will be about 7.000 places in secondary schools more than there are high school graduates.
There are about 17.000 vacant places in high schools, of which close to 3.000 places are planned in specialized high school departments.
Four-year secondary vocational schools have 40.000 vacancies, and music, ballet and art schools have a total of 1.770 vacancies.
The number of places in three-year educational profiles is about 14.000, while more than 800 places in two-year and three-year schools are provided for students with developmental disabilities and disabilities.
A little more than 3.000 places are available for students who want to be educated according to the dual model of education.
