Workers of companies for professional rehabilitation and employment a person with a disability "Stil" doo in Zrenjanin organized a strike because they do not receive regular wages. Workers protested in front of the City Hall and spoke with the mayor.
Stil is owned by the state and is involved in the production of HTZ footwear, and almost 80 percent of the employees are workers with disabilities.
Worker Daliborka Radenov said that nothing has changed in a year: wages are unpaid and there is no state aid, that during the winter some workers did not have money for firewood, nor could they buy medicine.
Radenov stated that they have approached the institutions on several occasions, but there has been no response and that the workers are living in uncertainty with questions about whether the factory will close and what will happen next.
"They won't do anything they should to get us out of this crisis. We ask all the institutions to move a little, to hear our cry, to hear our cry and to hear about our problems, to come and help us," she said.
