Passport and customs control in the car on the Belgrade-Budapest route will be speeded up by the fact that the Serbian side will carry out border and customs control at the Belgrade Centar station on Prokop, and Hungary in Kelebija, i.e. driving, announced the Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Aleksandra Sofronijević.
She stated that passenger traffic is expected to be established by the end of March on the Belgrade-Budapest high-speed railway.
The price of a one-way ticket will be 25 euros, and passport and customs control will be accelerated because, as the minister stated, all the highest safety and security standards have been met.
She explained what passport control will look like:
"For trains that will travel directly between Belgrade and Budapest, it is planned that the Serbian side will perform border and customs control in the 'Belgrade Center' at Prokop, and for the Hungarian side to do it in Kelebija, i.e. to do passport and customs control while driving," Sofronijević told RTS.
She pointed out that it will speed up the journey, but the public is questioning whether this means that the train will not stop at any drop-off station.
Sofronijević reminded that seven years ago, when passenger traffic on that section stopped, the journey took more than eight hours, and that now it will take about three hours on direct lines.
She stated that on the section of the railway through Serbia, the predicted speed is up to 200 kilometers per hour, and through Hungary 160 kilometers per hour.

She added that eight pairs of trains with 16 departures, five Serbian trains, are planned for the Belgrade-Budapest route. "Falcon" trains and three Hungarian "Taurus" trains.
She stated that two direct lines are planned, without stops, that is, with only a technical stop at Kelebija station, which will last 21 minutes.
