Students Gymnasium "Jovan Jovanović Zmaj" in Novi Sad decided to boycott classes on Tuesday, their parents announced, stating that the crisis in that school "is deepening day by day", which is why they are calling Novi Sad residents to join them in a protest walk at 17:30 in front of the Mechanical School.
The students' parents asked the provincial secretary Robert Otot and the Serbian Minister of Education Dejan Vuk Stanković why do they ignore the problems and crisis in which "Jovina" high school has been for more than a year due to, as they say, the management's behavior.
According to the parents in the statement, the professors of the "Jovina" high school planned a project lesson with interesting workshops for the last day of the first semester, but the director Radivoje P. Stojković on Monday, first by phone and then by e-mail, banned such already prepared lessons, issuing a warning to the employees.
According to their opinion, this is another in a series of arbitrary decisions by the director, with which he demonstrates force and mobbing professors, while denying students the right to quality education.
The protest walk will start at 17:30 in front of the Mechanical School, and will go to the "Jovina" gymnasium, which the principal locked and the students were evicted from it to three schools.
