Basic Court in Pristina announced the first-instance verdict against Nedeljko Spasojević, Marko Rošić, Dragiša Marković and Žarko Jovanović, who were sentenced to over 22 years in prison. They were found guilty of belonging to a criminal group Milan Radoičić and helping in the murder of Oliver Ivanovic, RTS reported.
The judgment was passed a year ago, and now it has been published in written form. More than 70 pages do not mention the direct executor. The verdict is therefore not final, but first-instance, so there is a right to appeal.
There are no answers to many questions, the most important of which is who shot and killed Oliver Ivanovic seven years ago in Kosovska Mitrovica.
The executors are the people of Milan Radoičić
The verdict states that "it is an indisputable fact that the late Ivanovic was killed on January 16, 2018, by unknown persons in northern Mitrovica, that is, by the perpetrators of an organized criminal group led by Milan Radoičić."
Judge Valjon Kurtaj of the Pristina Basic Court stated that based on the statements of the witnesses DS, KB, MI, CI, VN, HN, SJ and RR, "the court confirmed without any doubt that a criminal group led by Milan Radoičić was operating in the north of Mitrovica, whose members were Željko Bojić, Zvonko Veselinović, other members of the group, including the accused Marko Rošić. As a result of the actions of this criminal group, Oliver Ivanović was murdered," according to the written statement. judge.
"The deceased Ivanović was killed by this group because of political rivalries, which was confirmed by the witnesses examined so far. This criminal group, in addition to control in criminal activities, also had control in political life," wrote judge Valjon Kurtaj, and on several occasions in his extensive judgment he referred to the political circumstances in the north of Kosovo and Metohija and to the statements of witnesses.
Imprisonment and fines
Rošić is said to have "had his own tasks within the group, such as participating in the case of setting fire to the deceased's vehicle, and also monitoring the movements of the deceased with the aim of providing accurate information to the perpetrators of this murder, in order to carry it out." He was sentenced to 10 years in prison and a fine of 10.000 euros.
Nedeljko Spasojević was sentenced at first instance to four and a half years in prison and a fine of 4.500 euros.
Dragiša Marković was found guilty of the criminal offense of complicity in abuse of official position, as well as abuse and possession of weapons. He was sentenced to four years in prison and a fine of 1.500 euros.
Žarko Jovanović was sentenced to a prison sentence of four years and a fine for the criminal offense of complicity and abuse of official position, and was also found guilty of unauthorized ownership and possession of weapons.
Silvana Arsović, the secretary in the office of Oliver Ivanović, was acquitted by the court, and the prosecutor dropped the indictment for the accused Rade Basara.
