Students in the blockade of Novi Sad faculties, they announced a protest for January 17, and the meeting will be held on Freedom Square.
At the meeting, according to the announcements of the students, everyone will be able to see live the "first fruits" of what the students together with the citizens fought for in the past months and how the students will continue to act, writes the Nova portal.
Students in the blockade completed the year 2025 with the action "Declare victory", when on December 28 they collected 400.000 citizens' signatures in just one day.
Although it was clear to them much earlier that they had great support from the people, that December 28 only strengthened their beliefs.
That's why the students from Novi Sad decided to organize a big protest in their city, in order to show the citizens the first fruits of what they fought for together with them.
"It's clear that we have the support of the people, so it's time to justify it. It's time for citizens to find out what victory means. Responsibility. That's the word that defines the students' demands. We clearly proved that Serbia a country where corruption is deeply rooted in all spheres of society. Justice is captured, public officials are not responsible for human rights violations, and politicians and businessmen are getting rich, while the people are under the canopy. Students have a solution," students told the Nova portal.
Students report that they have specific mechanisms that directly lead to responsibility for those who work daily abuse their positions, in order to break the law.
"We will present some of those mechanisms at our gathering organized by the students in the blockade of the University of Novi Sad. Everyone who comes to our gathering will have the opportunity to see live the first fruits of what they fought for together with the students all these months and in what way the students will continue to act," said the students.
