Students from the informal organization STAV, who are blocked the building of the Rectorate in Novi Sad for more than two weeks, ended today's protest due to the unbearable heat, but announced that they will continue to block every next election for the Student Parliament of the Faculty of Philosophy.
According to the students, the protest ended because the administration of the Rectorate refuses to turn on the air conditioning, and the building is unbearably hot, given that the temperature outside has been more than 35 degrees for days, and the heat wave will continue next week, reports 021.
"We realized that there are no agreements and negotiations with the rector and student representatives, that they can do whatever they want, and that the inspection is still not responding, that no one can prevent them from doing so." This is the country we live in. You can stop the work of the institution for 15 days, and there will be no end to their arrogance," said student Mila Pajić.
She added that she will still block every next election for the Student Parliament of the Faculty of Philosophy.
"We are preparing for new victories, new actions. Every subsequent election will be blocked, their mandate will certainly last until December, they will not be able to turn their heads forever. Rio Tinto is coming, we need strength for that fight. We will not waste our energy on their arrogance, we will not allow them to wear us down. Their strategy failed. They are free to expect us again," said Mila Pajić.
