RHMZ warning: Rain, thunder and showers during the evening

Republic Hydrometeorological Institute (RHMZ) announced on Friday (May 23) afternoon that rain and local showers with thunder, while rain will fall intermittently in the Belgrade area.

Significantly fresher weather is expected for the weekend, and more abundant precipitation is locally expected in the south and east of Serbia.

In other areas, it will be partly cloudy and mostly dry weather.

At the beginning of next week, with longer sunny intervals, the daily temperature will gradually increase, but unstable weather will continue, sometimes with short-term showers and thunderstorms.

For specific locations, RHMZ announces that it will issue emergency warnings one to two hours in advance.

Warning from the Ministry of Interior

Department for emergency situations Ministry of the Interior earlier he sent an urgent warning to the residents of Belgrade emergency situation, that is, a strong storm that started on Friday around 15 p.m.

"The warning for a strong storm with rain, hail and strong gusts of wind is in effect. The storm can cause material damage, local floods, landslides, landslides and is a danger to the safety of people and animals," the warning states.

It is added that there is a risk of lightning strikes, problems in the operation of all devices that use electricity, the risk of causing a fire, problems in telecommunications and traffic.

"It is recommended to stay at home and follow the information of the competent authorities," the warning reads.

Previously, Kragujevac was hit by a strong storm, with a heavy downpour, and the storm hit Aranđelovac as well.

Yards in the vicinity of Uba turned white due to the strong impact of the hail, and Pančevo, Obrenovac, and Koceljeva were also hit by the strong storm.

Heavy rainfall was also recorded in Varvarin.

Activated weather alerts

The Republic Hydrometeorological Institute (RHMZ) has activated a red weather alert for Banat, Pomoravlje, Šumadija, eastern and western Serbia. The yellow weather alert has been activated for south-eastern and south-western Serbia, and the orange weather alert for Bačka, Srem and Belgrade.
