The monthly fee for Radio-television of Serbia (RTS) and Radio-television of Vojvodina (RTV) will cost 349 dinars, instead of the current 299 dinars, according to the proposal to amend the law adopted by the Government of Serbia
Subscription price increase for RTS and RTV of 50 dinars is provided for in the Proposal for a Law on Amendments to the Law on Temporary Regulation of Fee Collection Methods for Public Media Service, which was adopted by Government of Serbia July 4th.
As explained, bearing in mind the "increase in all operating costs of public media services caused by macroeconomic trends and the global economic situation, the fact that the existing tax paid by citizens is 299 dinars per month, and that the amount of the tax is at the level of 2020, it is proposed that the amount will increase to 349 dinars per month, which is a nominal increase of 50 dinars per month".
Funds based on the fee for public media service and budget funds, their total amount and proportion are determined "in the function of ensuring a stable system of financing the basic activities of public media services, their editorial independence and institutional autonomy, at the same time taking into account the economic environment and the economic strength of the taxpayers". .
The tax would be charged through the bill for the consumed electricity, as it has been until now.
