We are here to defend traditional values from trends that poison society and to respect the Church, said Aleksandar Šapić during the Belgrade Family Days tour with Patriarch Porfiri.
Aleksandar Šapić, president of the Provisional Authority of Belgrade and SNS candidate for mayor, and Patriarch Porfirije visited the Belgrade Ani family event today.
Among other things, Šapić referred to the recently held "Eurovision Song" music competition, specifically to the statement of one of the editors of the Radio Television of Serbia, that certain performances are "trends in the world that we must follow and adopt" and said that these trends should not be followed , much less adopt.
"It is precisely because of these things that we are here, we organize these manifestations that will promote joy, happiness, companionship, love." We will not allow our society to be poisoned under the guise of trends, which are not generally accepted even where they originated. That's why, as long as I have the opportunity, I will defend some traditional values and respect the Church in my own way," emphasized Šapić.
Patriarch Porphyry emphasized that "God established the marriage union, the family, so that we can learn to love."
He then said that when there is love, any distance and difference can be overcome.
"When a husband gets on his wife's nerves, you'll forgive my expression, he has the opportunity to prove his love to her, to give up his comfort, his will, in order to make his wife happy," said the patriarch and emphasized that the same applies vice versa.
"If you want to have peace, and your wife is upset, it is an illusion," emphasized Patriarch Porphyry.
