As is known, Belgrade Fair area apart from Hall 1, it intends to take over Belgrade on the water. Only more formalities are awaited adoption of the development plan for that part of the city.
The other day, the so-called Painting Gallery at the Belgrade Fair was demolished.
Law and practice
According to the law, no preparatory works are possible before obtaining a building permit, which no one has yet been able to obtain because the plan is in the process of public discussion.
The demolition of the Painting Gallery will probably be classified as preparatory work for which they do not need a permit. These are, for example, prefabricated buildings around the Fair, installation of fences and the like.
All this suggests that a public hearing will soon be scheduled, so that the cleanup can continue. Let's remind. The public hearing was supposed to be held on June 30, but it was postponed due to about 10.000 objections to the presented plan of the area.

Personnel changes
The fact that the demolition of the Fair is approaching is indicated by the fact that, according to the media, the general director of the Belgrade Fair, Danka Selić, has been replaced.
It is stated that the new director is Nikola Banković, who was the head of the Pošta fleet and the president of the SNS local board in Rakovica.

The Assembly of the Belgrade Fair was also formed. The previous president, Radet Šević, was replaced by Abdel Gavad Shadi, the owner of the independent shop "Shadi" from Zemun.
On July 7, a report on the change of members of the Supervisory Board was submitted to the Agency for Economic Registers. Twenty-seven-year-old Marko Blažić from the Center for Social Stability and a frequent guest of the regime's media was appointed to the position of President of the Supervisory Board instead of Miroslav Milošević.
In a statement, the Freedom and Justice Party asked the question "Is it possible that the Belgrade Fair - a symbol of the city, a place of tradition, knowledge and culture, will now be led by Nikola Banković, the head of the Posta fleet and the president of the SNS Local Board in Rakovica?"?
Kreni-Promeni announced on Instagram that the new director has no qualifications for the job.
Without qualifications and knowledge
"Without a day of experience in trade fair activity. Without qualifications. Without knowledge. He got to the position at the Post Office through a connection, advanced to the head of the fleet, and now — director of the Fair?! Instead of professional and responsible people, a party soldier is being appointed."
They say that "this is not just the election of the director. This is a signal that the SNS is completing the takeover of the Fair. The SNS is no longer trying to hide that it perceives Belgrade as its prey. For them, the Belgrade Fair is just another lot to sell, another hall to demolish. And instead of protecting it, they are handing it over to people without expertise, but with a party card."
Kreni-Promeni believes that the government's intention is clear:
That the Fair be cleared of personnel, that part of the hall be demolished and the field be given to investors as part of the expansion of Belgrade on the water.
Expo 2027 is just an excuse.
Experts are removed. Tradition is being erased. Loyalty is rewarded with features.
They say that "Belgrade must not be prey. The fair must not be a ruin for sale."
