Activist of the "Ne damo Jadar" movement Nebojsa Petkovic he was released after, as he told the FoNet agency, the police took him into custody and kept him in a car with handcuffs for fifteen minutes when he and an activist of that movement Zlatko Kokanović came by tractor to protest with students on Belgrade's Slavija Square.
Petković states that he and Kokanović properly parked the tractor and went to visit the students blocking the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, and then the "arrest" of the tractor followed, and then their misunderstanding with the police.
As Petković explains, he and Kokanović were notified that "members of public order and peace" were planning to take the tractor away because, as they stated, it was parked illegally. Two jeeps and three trucks came to Slavia.
According to Petković's testimony, Kokanović and he objected to the tractor being taken away.
Petković admits that he cursed the policeman, after which he was arrested.
"They kept me in the car with handcuffs for about fifteen minutes, until the spider came to take the tractor away," said Petković.
According to him, the tractor is now in the parking lot on Ada Ciganlija and the brother of Zlatko Kokanović, who is its owner, is going to pick it up.
Petković says that the plans remain unchanged and that he and Kokanović will remain at the protest in Slavija, and he invited the citizens to join them at 16:XNUMX p.m.
"Let the people come, to oppose this repression." To them, the tractor is the number one enemy of the state, and agriculture bothers them because it opposes Serbia becoming a mining colony," said Petković.
Confiscation of the tractor and arrest
Farmer from Gornji Nedeljice Zlatko Kokanović, activist of the movement "We don't give Jadar", he came to Belgrade on Sunday, December 22, in a tractor to join the joint protest of students and farmers in Slavija, but the Parking Service, with the assistance of the police, took away the tractor parked in Prote Mateje Street, and the activist of the movement Nebojsa Petkovic was arrested.
After Kokanović parked the tractor at number 16 in Prote Mateje, the Parking Service intervened, and members of the Police Brigade, with the opposition of many gathered citizens and students, enabled the spider to drive away Kokanović's tractor, FoNet reporter reports.
As the men in black jackets dragged him away, the crowd shouted to let him go, that it was an excessive use of force. He held on tightly to the roof of the tractor, but in the end they managed to take him off, writes Danas.
During the intervention of the police, Nebojša Petković, an activist of the "Ne damo Jadar" movement and Kokanović's fellow citizen from Gornji Nedeljice, was arrested and detained for allegedly obstructing police officers on duty.
Petkovic was handcuffed, put in a car and taken to the police station.
Activists from the "Ne damo Jadar" association came to Belgrade to attend today's protest of students, farmers and citizens who starts at 16 pm on Slavija square.
