Head of the Serbian Orthodox Church Patriarch of Porphyry on Saturday, he served the liturgy in the monastery of Visoki Dečani with a request to God to reconcile the nations, to "deliver us from the fratricidal wars, to save us with one word from the state of hostility in which we find ourselves, in relation to everything and in relation to everyone".
"Whenever, therefore, we forget that death is actually our enemy, everyone else becomes our enemy. And God often becomes our enemy in our darkened mind and in our dark soul and heart. And true and real fear and all the problems and frustrations that we have inside and outside of us are nothing but precisely the fear of that enemy called death," emphasized the patriarch, SPC reports.
Porfirio SPC points out that there are no other enemies, because "all others are created in themselves and in their hearts, but in fact they were not created, they do not exist, they were not invited and placed next to us to be our enemies."
"Evil does not depend on the outside, but on us. If we are better, I am better, you are better or better, then everything will be better. It will be better for me and you. And we can only do that if we understand who our enemy is," explained Patriarch Porphyry.
"That's why we are already joyful today, and tonight and tomorrow we will be even more joyful, because we will rejoice in the glory of Christ's resurrection from the dead. We will rejoice in the joy that no one can steal from us, no one can abolish, no one can reduce, no matter what they think, no matter what they say about us, no matter what they do to us," said Patriarch Porfirio.
