The Bezistan Pass, which connects Terazije and Nikola Pašić Square, has once again shown how neglected and dangerous it is - part of the ceiling collapsed in the area where the city government had previously prohibited movement due to the safety of citizens, reported the Ecological Uprising
Passing by bezzâzistân which connects Terazije and Nikola Pašić Square in the center of Belgrade, a part of the ceiling collapsed in the part where the city government, for security reasons, had previously prohibited the movement of pedestrians, announced the Ecological Uprising.
The Bezistan Pass has been devastated for years and threatens the safety of citizens, and its reconstruction, according to the City Administration, is hampered by unresolved property and legal relations.
After the tragedy in Novi Sad, when the canopy at the entrance to the Railway Station collapsed and killed 15 people, the Belgrade authorities installed metal fences and red tapes to prevent the movement of pedestrians in unsafe parts of Bezistan.

Announcement of criminal charges for "spreading fake news"
The city of Belgrade will file criminal charges against all those who "spread false news about the falling ceiling in Bezistan, because part of the ceiling did not collapse by itself, but was removed by the city's expert services," reports Beoinfo.
City planner Marko Stojčić said that the professional services of Belgrade, by order of the inspection and for the safety of the citizens, removed a part of the ceiling covering that separated in Bezistan.
According to him, the city of Belgrade will file a criminal complaint against all media and users of social networks who published false information due to the spread of panic and misinformation, as well as false, unverified information.
Stojčić stated that during regular visits to the Bezistan passage, the building inspector determined that the damage to the ceiling covering was such that it represented a potential danger, and that the building inspection, as a precaution, ordered an urgent measure to remove parts of buildings that are prone to falling in order to eliminate the immediate danger to passers-by, although the ban on using part of the building is still in force.
He noted that the consents of all owners were obtained, because that space does not belong to the city of Belgrade.
"Now everything that was prone to falling has been removed, it is firmly fenced off and it is impossible to access. I note that this condition of Bezistan is not new, it has been like this for years. The next phase is the preparation of the project and the obtaining of the building permit, and in the next budget there are funds for the reconstruction of the entire area, which has been waiting for decades", emphasized Stojčić.
The construction inspector continues to supervise and monitor the situation at that location, and depending on the established factual situation, he will take further measures in accordance with the law and the rules of the inspection supervision procedure, it was stated in the announcement.

Anyone who condemns the regime's targeting of people from the media, the non-governmental sector, the opposition and universities, must not agree to this targeting of RTS editors and journalists either.
Depriving Dejan Ilić, an intellectual with an impeccable life and work biography, of his freedom, without the slightest meaningful reason, is just one of the brutal indicators that the regime has turned against its own citizens and is entering a phase of terror
