The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade filed an indictment against Saša Vuković due to the existence of a justified suspicion that on May 12, 2026, in an insidious manner took the life of the injured AN in restaurant "27", as well as because he was carrying firearms and ammunition without authorization, the prosecution announced.
In addition to him, the indictment includes five other people who are accused of helping him after the crime was committed. In parallel, the prosecution suspended the investigation against Vuković's wife, while rejecting the criminal charges against two other people. Nowhere in the statement of the prosecution is the until recently chief of the Belgrade police mentioned Veselin Milić.
"The indictment charges Saša V. with the criminal offense of aggravated murder in conjunction with the criminal offense of illegal production, possession, carrying and trafficking of weapons and explosive materials," states VJT.
Also included in the indictment are Mario S, Nenad L, Petar U, Vuk Š. and Dejan S., who are each charged with the criminal offense of Assisting the perpetrator after the crime has been committed, due to the existence of reasonable suspicion that by concealing the traces of the crime, they helped Sasha V. not to be discovered.
As they stated, the indictment was submitted to the High Court in Belgrade for a decision on confirmation, and the prosecution proposed to the court that Sasa V, Mariu S, Nenadu L, Vuka Š. and Dejan S. extended detention.
"There is a justified suspicion that on May 12, 2026, Saša V. carried a pistol, most likely of the 'Crvena Zastava 9mm 999' brand, and at least 10 9x19mm caliber bullets, which he did not have the permission of the competent authority to hold and carry, and in which there was a frame filled with ammunition, so that the aforementioned pistol was tucked into his belt when leaving the house, and he carried it in several locations throughout the day," the prosecution stated.
"You're my brother, I don't want any bad blood"
Describing the incident, the prosecution stated that Vuković came to the restaurant "27" in the evening, where he took the life of the victim A.N in an insidious way, by calling the victim, who left the restaurant after a short discussion, and in a crying voice told him "brother, please come back, I didn't mean anything bad when I told you not to frown", "you are my brother, I don't want any bad blood, I just want us to be good brothers".
"The injured AN, who believed the words of the defendant Sasha V. that he had good intentions, returned to the restaurant in his vehicle around 23:14 p.m., and sat down at the table with the defendant Sasha V. At one point, the defendant knelt on his right knee to let the injured party know that he allegedly wanted to reconcile. After that, he took out a gun and fired at least 10 shots at the injured AN, 4-5 shots in the direction of the chest and stomach, and after a short break he continued to shoot in the direction of the victim's shoulder and neck and hit him with at least 10 projectiles," the prosecution pointed out, adding that the victim had 14 gunshots and a larger number of wounds.
The prosecution adds that it is reasonably suspected that on the night between May 12 and 13 Mario S. came to the restaurant at the request of Sasha V. to pick up his belongings, namely money and a vest that Sasha V. had left behind, so he was with the defendants Nenad L, Petra U. and Vuk Š. unfolded glasses and tablecloths, collected shell casings, and put the body of the injured AN together with the defendants Saša V. and Nenad L. in a blanket, took it out of the restaurant and put it in Nenad L's Hyundai Santa Fe car.
Then, as it is added, he drove the vehicle to Stara Pazova and, together with the body of the injured AN, handed the vehicle over to the defendant Dejan S, and asked him to bury the body somewhere.
"Also, as is reasonably suspected, Mario S. threw a certain number of cartridges, glasses, a fitness watch that belonged to the deceased and tompus butts into the river from the Ostružnica bridge, after which he returned to the restaurant '27', where he met again with the defendant Saša V, after which they left the restaurant together. Nenad L, Petar U. and Vuk Š. together with the defendant Mario S. collected the cartridges from the gun with which he committed a criminal act, and Nenad L., together with the defendants Saša V. and Maria S., put the body of the injured AN in a blanket, so all three took him out of the restaurant and put him in his Hyundai Santa Fe car," the prosecution points out.
Cleaned up the blood stains.
As announced by VJT, after the defendants Saša V. and Mario S. moved away, Nenad L. together with Vuk Š. and Petrom U. cleaned the traces of blood in the restaurant, and when the defendants Saša V. and Mario S. returned again after some time, they all left the "27" restaurant.
"Dejan S., as is reasonably suspected, on May 13, 2026, on the order of the defendant Saša V., drove to Stara Pazova in a 'Nissan X-Trail' vehicle, where he met the defendant Mario S, and on that occasion they exchanged vehicles, so that Dejan S. took over the Hyundai Santa Fe vehicle in which the body of the injured AN was located, and on that occasion the defendant Mario S. asked him to bury the body of the injured party. "After that, Dejan S. put the body of the injured AN in a barrel, poured mortar inside, covered and welded the barrel, and transported it to a nearby lake in the town of Jarkovci, where he dug a hole and buried the barrel with the body of AN," the prosecution stated.
They added that against Jasna Ž. continues the implementation of evidentiary actions, and that the investigation against Danka V., the wife of the first suspect, has been suspended. The prosecution added that the criminal charges against Miloš J. and Dušan V. were dismissed.
