Marko Krichak, the commander of the Unit for the Security of Certain Persons and Facilities (JZO), was filed against him Nikolina Sinđelić, a student of the Faculty of Political Sciences in Belgrade, who testified publicly about the violence perpetrated against her by Kričak in the garage of the Government of Serbia building in August.
Sinđelić previously stated that after the protest on August 14, Kricak hit her, that her phone was broken, her clothes were torn and she was threatened with rape.
As she now states for Nova, Kricak accuses her of injuring her reputation and honor, while the institutions are silent on the report she submitted after Nasil which she lived through.
Declaration of reputation and honor
The application filed against Nikolina Sinđelić by Marko Kričak refers to her first public appearance on N1 television.
"I am accused of violating reputation and honor. The first hearing is scheduled for mid-February. Yesterday (November 5) I was in the Criminal Court, because I am being charged with disturbing public order and peace, using explosive devices and some other things. Yesterday we postponed the hearing for the events of August 14. I saw that Kricak started to sue everyone who mentioned him, because he also sued some activists," explained Nikolina for A new one.
She says that it is the regime's response, but that she continues her fight against the violence she experienced.
"We continue everything regularly, this does not change anything. It is certainly a shameful move, like everything they have done so far. I filed a criminal complaint, and the prosecution is still silent about it, and the police, and the government. Three months have passed, they have not given us any answer," the student points out.
What happened on the night of the protest
Students Nikolina Sinđelić and Stevan Zdravković were left without their phones after the protest on August 14, after, as they said, members of the Public Health Service, the police and masked men took them to the Government garage.
As Nikolina stated, Marko Krichak slapped her and hit her head against the wall.
"He said that he was going to strip me and rape me in front of everyone, that everyone would see it, I was visibly angry. He said: 'You should ask me to stop beating you,' and he told the boyfriend that the violence would only follow," said Nikolina.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs soon denied that it strongly denies the allegations of mistreatment of Nikolina Sinđelić in the Government building of the Republic of Serbia, stressing that the police acted in accordance with the law, and they were brought into the Government building solely to protect their safety.
"At three o'clock after midnight, the persons were released from the police station. During the entire procedure, there was no use of coercion, tying, insults or any kind of mistreatment," the MUP stated in a statement at the time.
