High Court in Belgrade accepted the appeal of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade and overturned the first-instance decision of the judge for the previous proceedings, which rejected the proposal to order the detention of the Novi Sad opposition councilor Misha Bachulov.
By this final decision of the court, Bachulov was appointed detention up to 30 days in order not to repeat the crime in the short term, N1 reported.
Previously, the judge for the preliminary proceedings of the High Court in Belgrade allowed Bachulov to defend himself from freedom even though he is charged with serious crimes, which are preparing violent change constitutional order.
According to the statement of the prosecution, Bachulov is suspected because he arranged with a doctor from Belgrade at the end of October to allegedly be poisoned, for which they would accuse the president of Serbia and the current state authorities, and which, according to their opinion, would result in the massive protest that was scheduled for November 1 in Novi Sad, causing major riots, which would then lead to a coup d'état and a violent change of government in Serbia.
He is also accused of coordinating the violence that took place that evening in front of House of People's Assembly where two public gatherings were held, one registered and one unregistered.
