There was a time when hailing a taxi was a pure lottery. You simply couldn't count on getting a vehicle from any association when you needed it. Car:Go tried to plug that gaping hole in the market.
And then Yandex appeared, an application for ordering taxis. And everything changed. Suddenly, vehicles were available when you needed them.
The application is simple, easy to use, on it you track the car intended for you. At peak times, when demand is higher, or when, for example, it's raining and everyone wants to take a taxi, the prices are slightly more expensive than regular ones.
And, there are no lies, no fraud, calibrated taximeters, driving a long way: the application measures and controls everything, the consumer can complain at any time.
Pink also succumbed.
Pink taksi resisted it for a long time, so that now he too would enter the Yandex system, so from now on practically all taxi associations are in Belgrade in this system, it says New economy.
32 taxi carriers and associations are now listed in the Yandex Go application, and the partnership between the companies Pink Taxi and Yandex Go is changing the balance of forces on the Belgrade taxi market.
The two companies have agreed to a collaboration whereby Pink retains its own identity and organization, but moves to a shared digital infrastructure with Yandex.
From now on, users of the Yandex Go application can directly order Pink taxi vehicles, which was not possible until now. Namely, Pink was the only major taxi association in Serbia that did not operate within the Yandex platform, writes Katarina Pantelić for Nova Ekonomija.

New "pink" category
According to the company, the new integration should reduce waiting times and increase vehicle availability.
In the future, Pink drivers will be able to receive orders both from their native application Pink Nova and from the Yandex Go system. At the same time, a special "pink" tariff was introduced in both applications, so that the rides chosen by users under that name would be directed exclusively to Pink drivers.
"Pink Taxi members, as well as all carriers within the Yandex Go partner fleet, can now receive orders from both applications. In the Pink Nova application, there is a special 'Pink' tariff, under which orders are assigned only to Pink drivers. As part of the partnership, a new 'Pink' tariff has been introduced in the Yandex Go application, so that Pink drivers can reach their loyal user base," Yandex said.
This move represents a departure from Yandex's previous practice in Serbia. Until now, the platform offered only driving categories such as "economy" and "comfort", without the possibility to choose a specific taxi association. By introducing a branded option, Pink gets additional visibility on the app compared to other associations.
According to data from the Association of Taxi Drivers Association of Serbia, Pink has slightly more than 70 vehicles owned by the company, while around 2.200 entrepreneurs within that association drive their own cars.
About 6.500 taxis are registered in Belgrade. Until recently, about 4.300 vehicles were available through the Jandseks platform, while after the connection of Pink, almost the entire fleet of the capital was in the same digital system.
How Yandex works
Yandex Go functions as an intermediary platform and does not own its own vehicles, but connects users with taxi drivers and taxi associations that accept rides through the app.
The commission paid by the partners is 10 percent without VAT and, as stated by the company, has not been changed since July 2020.
