Dismantling Old Sava bridge it started on April 3. However, activists of the organization "The Bridge Remains" who guard it for five months, are still in their camp.
"We are not giving up on the bridge, but the bridge is a victim of Belgrade on the water, so we will focus on blocking the expansion of that settlement," Đorđe Miketić from "The Bridge Remains" told the "Vremena" portal.
At the rally they organized on Saturday, the initial assembly of Belgrade activists was held on the Old Sava bridge.
Miketić says that "after the dismantling of the bridge structure began, it was agreed that this would be the last thing that this corrupt and criminal regime will destroy and that it is necessary to unite all parts of Belgrade for better coordination and efficiency."
Activists from different parts of the city agreed to form a network of activists - "Belgrade Remains", which will be a platform for mutual cooperation and active defense of the city.
"First of all, they will deal with the prevention and stopping of corrupt construction projects, such as the expansion of Belgrade on the water, the demolition of the Fair, the General Headquarters, wild construction in the New Belgrade blocks, the Maki water source, the Sava embankment, Dorćol, the construction of the national stadium and EXPO, but also other predatory ventures such as the privatization of GSP, the Belgrade Pharmacy..."
Đorđe Miketić says that "working groups have also been formed for further planning of actions and networking of activists and initiatives from all over the city".
"The blockade of Belgrade on the water has been agreed for Wednesday, April 12 at 18 p.m.," announced Đorđe Miketić.
