In the night between Wednesday and Thursday last week at the VMAs received 26 people in an alcoholic state, including 12 children under 15 years of age. Among the typical children at the VMA, some had as much as 2,8 parts per thousand of alcohol in their blood.
Minister of Health Danica Grujičić for Blic stated that these children were poisoned with ethanol and that it was severe poisoning.
"As the head of the VMA told me, 28 of them requested medical help, only two were adults, all the others were minors. Twelve of them were kept for treatment, which means that they had severe ethanol poisoning", said the minister and added that there were no other psychoactive substances, and that these were not children who took drugs.
"There was a story that someone poured spirits into them, it seems that in fact someone poured medicinal alcohol into that bottle", explained the Minister of Health and said that she held responsible for this event the organizers who had to, as a last resort, at the entrance of the club to check guest IDs.
According to Grujičić, the children went to the Toxicological Center of the Croatian Academy of Medical Sciences, "where battle poisons are also treated, they came to the place where severe intoxications are treated".
Misdemeanor report
Last week, the police filed a misdemeanor charge against the organizers of a party in a Belgrade night club.
The report was submitted by officers of the Stari Grad Police Station, who together with Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade they continue to work on this case, but it is not precisely specified against whom. The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office confirmed for Tanjug that pre-criminal proceedings are ongoing and that all the circumstances are being established.
The "Sinner" club, where the minors got drunk, announced that they had nothing to do with the mentioned events, and that the club was rented for a private celebration.
