It's noon for traffic. a new section of the "Miloš Veliki" highway opens from Pakovrač to Požega is 19,56 kilometers long.
The new section of the highway "Miloš Veliki" from Pakovrat to Požega it is opened for traffic at 12 o'clock.
Characteristic of that section is that it passes through very difficult geographical terrain, which is why numerous tunnels and bridges were built, which make up almost a third of the route.
The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, who visited the section yesterday during the ceremonial opening, said that he was proud of the fact that "despite everything, the most difficult section has been completed".
In the entire project, 35 bridges with a total length of 5.196 meters, four overpasses with a total length of 592 meters were designed (three bridges on local roads after descending from level crossings with a total length of 180 meters.
Four overpasses were also designed as part of level crossings with a total length of 1.075 meters, namely: 13 bridges with a length of more than 100 meters, and the longest bridge with a length of 478 meters, six bridges with a length of 25-100 m, 16 single-span bridges with a length of 10-25 meters.
We should not forget that this part of the highway between Pakovrač and Požega is being opened despite the fact that it does not have a use permit.
Pakovraće - Požega: Vučić on the road to irrationality
As "Vreme" already wrote, the details of this project are so insane that it would be a shame not to comment on them. Let's say, in order to adapt reality to the wishes of the Supreme Being, on June 21 of this year, the Government of Serbia passed a Decree suspending the Rulebook on Tunnel Safety.
So, this happens after the horror in Novi Sad, when almost all security procedures were skipped because the supreme being was also in a hurry. From the point of view of the Government, the Supreme Being and the Essenes, the only problem in Novi Sad was that the safety procedures were not outlawed, that is, the canopy fell illegally. Now, however, everything is fine. If the tunnels collapse, they will collapse according to the law.
Since the Government suspended common sense, civilized rites and the law, an explanation followed: instead of automatic monitoring, 24-hour on-call firemen, police and emergency services will be introduced. For those who, perhaps, do not fully understand what is happening: instead of high-tech, precise and reliable measuring instruments that have been used in civilization for decades, Aleksandar Vučić will organize firefighters, policemen and doctors to take care of the tunnel.
And how will they do that?
Well, by watching the hill and being ready if the hill falls on the bus for example. If thousands of tons of concrete and soil bury the bus, then the doctors step into the scene: they dig holes (well, there are firefighters too, they will dig holes) and bring out the uninjured passengers because, as the supreme being said, everything is safe.
Vučić opened a section of the road without a use permit and claims that everything will be fine
Citizens blocked the toll plaza near Pakovrač
Let us remind you that two days ago, citizens organized a blockade at the entrance to the highway near Pakovrača.
200 of them blocked the toll booth at highway near this place.
Minister of Construction: The section from Pakovraća to Požega is safe, spreading panic is a crime
The Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Aleksandra Sofronijević declared that the new section of highway E-763 "Miloš Veliki" from Pakovraća to Požega is safe and added that spreading panic and appeals that the section is not safe has elements of a criminal offense.
Sofronijevic told RTS that the people who in the previous period spread appeals not to use the section because it is unsafe, did not have access to the documentation, nor were they familiar with the expert opinion of the engineer.
"Yesterday, we heard doubts from part of the public, so we can even say warnings about the safety of the section. To conclude, both the tunnels and the sections, based on all the reports, based on the proposal of the Commission for the Technical Inspection of the Facilities, which came from a renowned company that has been here for decades in this area, prove that both the tunnels and the sections are completely safe and secure," said the minister.

She emphasized that after the accident at the train station in Novi Sad that happened on November 1, 2024, no engineer would risk his license for something that is not safe.
"If the section was not safe, the Technical Inspection Commission would not be able to propose opening it to traffic. After that terrible tragedy in Novi Sad, imagine an engineer who would risk his name, his signature, his personal license. You cannot force anyone. Everything was done, of course, in accordance with the regulations," said Sofronijevic.
She denied allegations that all 55 engineers were against the opening of the section because allegedly everything was not right, but that Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić insisted on opening it as soon as possible despite all that, saying that it was not true that the piles on the section were unsafe.
