The situation in to the schools is not normal, although it may seem so at first glance, and even where everything seems regular, where classes are held and pupils come to school, there are numerous problems that happen away from the public eye, said the president of the Forum of Belgrade Grammar Schools, Ana Dimitrijević.
"Directors come to student parliaments accompanied by security, school committees are not held, which is an obligation by law," stated Dimitrijević, a teacher in Deveta high school in Belgrade.
She assessed that the atmosphere in schools is "not good" and warned that all this "reflects on the students who are suffering".
"These are conflicts on the line." parents - the management, these are unhappy people who were brought to work, this is a feeling of discomfort in the collectives. "Many of our colleagues lost their jobs or had to go somewhere else, to other collectives after many years of work," she stated.
According to her opinion, "the idea was obviously to punish us by either people losing their jobs or by breaking up our collectives where we managed to unite, because we are stronger together."
She stated that procedures are being violated in the Ninth Belgrade Gymnasium.
"Two people left our place. A young physicist colleague, who was with us for two years, was active in the suspension of work and his contract was not renewed. Patriarchy succumbed, was transferred to another gymnasium, and he was with us for eight years. The children are suffering a lot and we in the collective feel that an important part of us has left," said Dimitrijević.
"Setting up" parents
She also pointed out that the school board was not held, although by law it had to be held until September 15.
"The school management is seriously violating the law, because you have to adopt the annual work plan by September 15. The members of the school board were dismissed from us and new ones were appointed, but we have not seen them," she pointed out.
She added that the school board has not met since February, even though it is the highest administrative body of the school, and that the parents who will be members of the parents' council are being "arranged" in order to make suitable decisions.
"That didn't work at my school, because the parents organized themselves well and don't allow anyone to take away their right to choose the representatives they want and to fight for things they consider important. They are, in fact, a control body and can draw attention if they notice any irregularities, such as tenders for excursions," said Dimitrijević.
She also pointed out the problem of choosing acting directors in certain schools, because the authorities are not interested in having someone from the collective at the head of the institution, and employees, parents and students only agree to that.
"On the other hand, they can't find anyone they want to be a director, because the directors are passed by because employees, students and parents turn their backs on them," stated Dimitrijević.
